Beekeeping Technical Guidance for Beginners

The bees are active and healthy, the honey harvest is good, and the cost and time and effort of the beekeeper are small; these are the three basic elements to judge whether a person is keeping bees well. Corresponding to these three basic elements, there are three basic beekeeping techniques. If you want to keep bees well, you need to be proficient.
The technology of honey bees seen from outside the beehive
Beekeeping pays more attention to watching and less moving, which is beneficial to the health of the colony and saves the energy and time of the beekeepers to check the bees out of the box. Therefore, "watching more" is not without purpose, but should be based on exercise.
1.By observing outside the beehive box to judge whether the bee colony has disease.
Many bee colony diseases can be observed from outside the box. Give two examples:
(1) If there are parasites in the body of the bees that come in and out, it means that the bee colony has bee mites or bee scorpion flies.
(2) There are constantly bees with missing arms and legs at the door of the nest, indicating that there are bee mites or brood worms in the bee colony.
2. Judging whether there is an urgent negative situation in the bee colony by observing outside the beehive box.
(1) The bees are more excited or anxious at the door of the hive, indicating that the bee colony has lost its king or is short of honey.
(2) If the bees fight at the door of the nest, it means that the bee colony has stolen bees.
3. Observe whether the bee colony is breeding new bees through the outside of the beehive box.
(1) Bees collect pollen continuously at the door of the beehive nest, indicating that the queen bee is laying eggs and the bee colony is breeding young bees. On the contrary, there is a possibility that the queen bee will stop producing.
(2) In the afternoon, bees with a light yellow color come out and circle in the air, indicating that a new batch of bees has emerged from the bee colony.
4. Observe whether the bee colony has segregation and escape behavior through the outside of the beehive box.
(1) The work of bees entering and exiting is orderly and active, which shows that the bee colony has a good effect of entering honey and powder. On the contrary, it shows that the work of the bee colony is neglected, and once it is a large bee colony, it may be a precursor to bee separation.
(2) The bee colony does not eat pollen or honey, and some bees often "hang out" outside, indicating that the bee colony may escape from the colony.
The technology of multiplying bees to collect honey
The technology of multiplying bees to collect honey is actually that one person must have a certain beekeeping plan to ensure that each breeding bee can be used for collecting honey. When the nectar source period comes, developing the bee colony to the best collection state is the technique of multiplying bees. the essence of.
If the number of bees is too early, the bee colony will pass the "watershed" before the arrival of the honey source, and the collection ability will be weakened. If the number of bees is too late, the bee colony will not develop when the honey source comes, and the best time for honey collection will be missed. Only by mastering the technology of multiplying bees to collect honey can we effectively increase our honey production and ensure our own harvest.
Honey bee overwinter and summer technology
There are two special periods for beekeeping, one is the winter period and the other is the summer period. During these two periods, bee withdrawal was serious, and it was the main period when the number of bee colonies decreased sharply. Only by mastering the technology of winter and summer can we guarantee that we will always have a good bee species foundation and provide the output of bee colonies for the nectar source period.
1. Overwintering technology: To overwinter the bee colony, it is necessary to pay attention to reasonable warmth and reasonable feeding, to avoid the freezing and starvation of a large number of bees, and to avoid the occurrence of bee crawling disease and paralysis. This requires us to prepare a robust overwintering bee colony before overwintering, choose a reasonable site for overwintering, keep warm not too much, and feed food concentration should not be too low. etc.
2. Summer technology. During the summer, bees mainly have to face the two difficulties of high temperature and shortage of honey sources. Therefore, we should choose a place with good ventilation and shading performance as the bee farm during the summer, and at the same time, we must reasonably extract the spleen to ensure that there are more bees than spleens, so as to avoid the outbreak of bee colony diseases at this time. Broodworm disease is prone to occur in the spleen.
To keep bees well, we need to master the above three basic beekeeping techniques in quantity. These three basic techniques cover a lot of details, and we need to constantly explore and practice to master them one by one.
