What are the benefits of two layers beehives

Regarding the advantages of the double-layer beehive, Benefitbee believes that the biggest advantage is that the beehive has a large space and can accommodate more bees, and the second is the quality of honey production. Because of the habits of bees, such honey is relatively clean. However, not all bees are suitable for two layers beehives farming, so generally in actual farming, it does not mean that beekeepers can use whatever hives they want, but also consider the habits of bees.
Suitable for bees in double hives For our common honey bees, generally Chinese honey bees and Italian honey bees. Both types of bees can be raised in double-layer hives, but the differences are quite large. Let's look at them in detail.
Chinese honeybees, due to their strong dispersal ability, have difficulty maintaining a large colony. This feature also shows that Chinese honeybees are not suitable for breeding in double-layer beehives. But Chinese bees have very obvious regional characteristics. What are the habits of bees in certain places, the greater the colony potential bees can maintain, the less ability bees will be able to separate bees during honey flow. Therefore, what are the habits of bees in places where the ability of bees to scatter bees is weak, and short-connected relay boxes or shallow-connected relay boxes can often be used during the honey flow period. Beekeeping, also known as double-layer beehives, is used throughout the year in many places in China, which is difficult to achieve.
Italian bee is a bee species introduced from abroad. It belongs to trained bees. It's easy to maintain a strong colony, but bee division is weak. It is a type of bee that is more suitable for breeding in double-layer beehives. Beehive farming is also our more common use of double-layered bees.
The benefits of using two layers hives for beekeeping
If the characteristics of bees are suitable for double-layer beehive farming, in fact, there are still many benefits to our beekeeping.
Benefitbee believes this is the biggest benefit. If we use a single layer hive, the honey spleen will usually contain larvae. In this case, taking honey can easily lead to the presence of larval fluid in the honey, resulting in poor honey quality. Bees have a habit of storing honey upwards. If we use a double beehive, leaving the queen bee idle on the lower tier, the bees will store honey on the upper tier. Due to the separation between us, the queen bee cannot lay eggs in the upper layers, which makes our honey high quality, free of larval bodily fluids, and clean as long as the honey matures.
Because we use double-layer beehives, our beehives have a large space to breed more bees, and the large space will not cause the colony to overheat, especially during the honey flow period and when the bees are overwintering. Sometimes, the period of large nectar flow is conducive to strong groups to capture large nectar sources, which is conducive to overwintering and heat preservation. According to the bee reproduction of the bee tribe, when a strong colony is used for overwintering, the number of overwintering bees will be doubled and the number of overwintering bees will be reduced by half. The success rate will be much higher and feed consumption will not vary too much.
