Beekeeping class: bee overwintering technology

Severe winter is coming. Whether it is plants or animals, it is necessary to prevent freezing and overwintering. Only by ensuring the survival rate in winter, will they get more benefits in the coming year. So what are the main points of bee overwintering technology?
First, catch the breeding of overwintering bees
No matter how small the number of overwintering bees is, it is difficult to ensure that overwintering bees can survive the winter smoothly. Maintaining a strong colony, according to regional differences, is basically to catch the overwintering bees one month before the queen bee stops laying eggs, which is the key to ensuring a strong colony overwintering. (Autumn breeding: Keep the excess honeycomb of the bees, reward the feeding of powder honey, and maintain sufficient feed. The honeycomb should not be too much, so that the bees have enough nutrition and strong physique, so that they can survive the winter smoothly.)
Second: Management of bees overwintering
First, feed enough overwintering food before the bees turn off the king, so as not to let the overwintering bees participate in the labor work, and avoid the occurrence of physical labor that shortens the lifespan of the overwintering bees. That is, before the spleen leaves the room, start to feed the overwintering feed.
Third: the control of mites before wintering is the top priority
After the bee larvae is completely out of the house, choose a good weather where the bees can fly, and do a good job of curing mites. If the mites are not completely treated, the bees will not be quiet during the winter. It will cause the bees to be restless and then consume physical strength, and eat a lot of feed, causing the bees to excrete difficult and bloated belly.
After catching the overwintering bees, before overwintering, the first thing to do is to tighten the honeycomb, so that the bees have extra honeycomb and enough feed. In the winter in the north, the bees finally fly and excrete. After the temperature drops, the bees should be kept warm. In order to avoid insufficient feed, a honeycomb is added. Overwintering in the south, as long as the feed is sufficient and the temperature is not lower than minus 2 degrees, there is no need to keep warm, but there must be more bees than the honeycomb to prevent the bees from freezing.Bees overwinter in the south, and hives are best placed facing north. The door of the nest is protected from light, which can reduce the useless flight of bees caused by direct sunlight.
Before the overwintering of the queen bee, a batch of queen bee were cultivated, and after the queen bee was installed, a new batch of new queen bee were cultivated, ready to be used during the spring season.
